On the practice of asking credentials of 3d party services -apparently this blogpost from 2007 was one of the first times this was actually called the username-password antipattern.

Dublin-based speech-to-text service. Call a number, and send yourself a reminder, or send a message (via txt or email) to one of your contacts. Works with local (and at this moment still free) numbers in 19 countries.
Also interfaces with other services such as (Google) Calendar, Evernote, Twitter…
Jott.com seems to be the American equivalent.
